The Arts and Humanities Institute presents a viewing of the Sun Valley Film Festival entrant “From the Ground Up,” followed by a discussion with the filmmaker. The free event begins at 7 p.m. Sunday, March 16, at the Special Events Center.

“From the Ground Up” is the inspiring story of the successful micro-empowerment project created by Harvard University students focusing on ending childhood malnutrition in Uganda. It also looks at how the program can be replicated to focus on ending global hunger.

Karen Day is a local filmmaker gone global. She is a humanitarian journalist, author and filmmaker with 20 years of experience producing socially relevant documentaries and writing stories on global humanitarian issues for Marie Claire, Elle, the Los Angeles Times, NBC and the Pentagon.
