Morrison Center Announces its Family Theatre Series

The Morrison Center announces its signature Velma V. Morrison Family Theatre Series. This series presents an opportunity for families in Boise and throughout the greater Treasure Valley to experience the magic of live, professional entertainment at affordable prices in a one-of-a-kind facility.

This year’s season includes Disney’s “Choo Choo Soul Live!” With Genevieve, Jim Henson’s “Dinosaur Train Live: Buddy’s Big Adventure” and “Doktor Kaboom! Look Out! Science is Coming!”

Tickets are on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, June 6, at the Morrison Center box office, at select Bronco Shops, online at BoiseStateTickets.com or by calling 426-1110.

Research demonstrates that children who study and experience the performing arts are not only better students, but also more civic minded, productive adults. In three carefully chosen events, parents and children will be astonished, amused, touched, educated and astounded.

ChoChooSoulDisney’s “Choo Choo Soul Live!” with Genevieve

Disney Junior’s hit video series “Choo Choo Soul” is designed specifically for toddlers to 6-year olds. It follows the musical adventures of singer and train station manager Genevieve Goings and dancing and beatboxing engineer DC as they take kids to magical locales while performing songs from classic Disney films and some of their own favorites. This show is sure to delight the whole family.

DinosaurTrainJim Henson’s “Dinosaur Train Live: Buddy’s Big Adventure

1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31

Jim Henson’s “Dinosaur Train Live: Buddy’s Big Adventure” embraces and celebrates the fascination that preschoolers have with both dinosaurs and trains. The popular Emmy Award-nominated PBS KIDS series encourages basic scientific thinking skills as the audience learns about life science, natural history and paleontology. Come join Buddy, Tiny, Don and all of their friends and family in this fun-filled, interactive and immersive live trip back in time to an age when dinosaurs roamed the Earth …. and rode in trains.

Kaboom“Doktor Kaboom! Look Out! Science is Coming!”

2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 15

“Doktor Kaboom!” is an interactive, one-man Science variety show suitable for all audiences. The creation of actor/comedian David Epley, aka Doktor Kaboom! creatively blends theater arts with the wonders of scientific exploration.

Join him for a sidesplitting journey of increasingly spectacular, and often successful, experiments and demonstrations. Doktor Kaboom! keeps his crowds riveted with interest and rolling with laughter.

Doktor Kaboom! has played theaters all around the country, including the Kennedy Center, and leaves his audiences thoroughly fulfilled and cheering for more.
