Portrait of Jack Pelton. Jack Pelton is stepping down as dean of the Graduate College after 15 years of dedicated service, and will return to the Department of Geosciences.

Join members of the campus community from 3:30-5:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 21, at the Benjamin Victor Gallery for a reception to honor Pelton’s dedication to the university.

When Pelton stepped up as dean in 2001, the Graduate College enrolled 1,337 graduate students spread among two doctoral programs and 35 master’s programs. Today, the college serves 2,691 students within 10 doctoral programs and 67 master’s programs. Boise State now houses the largest graduate program in Idaho, and was designated a doctoral research university by the Carnegie Foundation in 2016.
