The Boise Jazz Society will launch its 2016-17 season with Trio de Paz, an upbeat Brazilian jazz group featuring celebrated musicians Romero Lubambo on guitar, drummer Duduka Da Fonseca and bassist Nilson Matta.
Memberships for the season are sold out; however, Boise Jazz Society is hosting a free symposium with Trio de Paz at 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25, in the Sapphire Room of the Riverside Hotel. The jazz society also is hosting a free Brazilian jazz clinic beginning at 4 p.m. Monday, Sept. 26, in the Morrison Center Recital Hall. An “infor-mance” begins at 4 p.m. and the music clinic runs from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend these events.
The Boise Jazz Society is a community engagement partnership between the City of Boise and Boise State University in support of jazz performance, jazz education and the promotion of jazz as a living American art form.
