Faculty interested in exploring service-learning next semester are encouraged to contact Service Learning Director Kara Brascia by Oct. 10 to discuss course models and potential community partners. The Service-Learning staff can provide extensive support in planning, course design, connecting with community partners and logistics.

Service-learning is a teaching strategy that helps students apply what they learn in the classroom to a need in the community, while gaining valuable workplace skills and expanding their perspectives. Every year more than 80 faculty and 3,000 students collaborate with 100 community partners through the Service-Learning Program.

Service-Learning is a unit of the Center for Teaching and Learning and is excited to be a part of “Active Learning Day” on Oct. 25. See for details or contact Brascia at or 426-2380.
