“The Hungry Heart,” an award-winning documentary film on prescription drug and opiate addiction and recovery in Vermont, will be screened at Boise State University for faculty, staff and students at 7 p.m. March 8 in the Jordan Ballroom.
In addition to the the screen, Raina Lowell, one of the individuals in recovery featured in the film, will host a Q and A following the film.
Directed by Bess O’Brien, the film provides an intimate look at the often hidden world of prescription drug addiction through the work of Vermont pediatrician Fred Holmes whose patients struggle with the disease.
The film screening is sponsored by Drug Free Idaho and the Boise State University Department of Public Safety.
