Researchers Invited to Coffee and Donuts March 2

Coffee and Donuts for Researchers returns from 9-11 a.m. Thursday, March 2, in Albertsons Library Room 201C (near the College of Innovation and Design). This month focuses on GIS Tools for Research.

Spatial data are permeating many areas of research. Join Boise State’s Research Computing Services staff for a primer on open source Geographic Information Systems (GIS) tools and learn about ArcGIS services.

SCHEDULE

9-10 a.m. – Open forum to mingle, and to talk to fellow researchers and ask staff about GIS-related issues.

10-11 a.m. – Short primer on using GDAL/OGR utilities, as well as a brief description of Research Computing Service’s ArcGIS infrastructure.
