Celebrate Arbor Day April 28 by Volunteering to Plant a Tree

By: Cienna Madrid   Published 8:52 am / April 27, 2017

The Boise State University landscape team will lead a campus Arbor Day celebration at 10 a.m. Friday, April 28, with a community tree planting. Campus arborist Julian Lindsay and his team plan to plant a Colorado Blue Spruce in the Quad. The location was selected with the intention to eventually replace the annual holiday tree.

Volunteers are welcome to help plant the tree; anyone interested should meet on the Albertsons Library steps at 10 a.m.

Planting the tree is part of a Boise State strategy toward earning a Tree Campus USA designation. Additionally, a campus tree advisory committee is being formed to represent the diverse stakeholders who work with and appreciate trees on campus.
