Chip Seal on University Drive to Begin June 26

By: Cienna Madrid   Published 1:44 pm / June 20, 2017

Boise State University traffic will be affected by Ada County Highway District (ACHD) work beginning Monday, June 26. Traffic on University Drive, between Broadway Avenue and Lincoln Avenue, will fluctuate between one and two lanes as necessary for chip sealing, sweeping and fog sealing.

Chip sealing will begin June 26 and will continue throughout the week. Please follow all temporary signage and flaggers through the ever-changing, one-lane traffic pattern. Once chip sealing is done, two-lane traffic will resume, however occasional sweeping will occur which may slow traffic flows.

Within 10-14 days a fog seal will be placed on the roadway, resulting in similar traffic patterns and lane reductions. Again, follow all temporary signage and flaggers.

ACHD anticipates delays of up to 15 minutes on University Drive. Traffic is encouraged to detour to Beacon Street or Belmont Street to navigate east and west on the southern portions of campus. Traffic along University Drive from Lincoln Avenue to Capitol Boulevard will continue as normal.

All improvement dates are weather permitting. For more information regarding chip sealing visit ACHD’s website at:
