Boise State Parking Meter Rates to Change July 1

By: Sherry Squires   Published 11:14 am / June 23, 2017

Boise State University’s parking meter rates will change effective July 1, 2017, to better support parking demand on campus. Meter rates throughout campus will increase to $2.50 per hour with the exception of the Plaza East and West lots, Campus School lot and Brady Garage.

The Plaza East and West Lots, as well as the Campus School lot, will move to the following rates:

  • Plaza East: $4/hour (24 hours/day, 7 days/week)

  • Plaza West/Campus School Peak Rate: $4/hour (7 a.m.-5 p.m.)

  •  Plaza West/Campus School Non-Peak Rate: $3/hour (5 p.m.-7 a.m., no overnight parking)

To respond to increased demand for parking in the Brady Garage, meters will charge at a graduated rate to encourage a more frequent turnover. These rates will promote short-term parking turnover to improve parking availability and reduce congestion. Additionally, full-day rates have been discontinued in both the Lincoln and Brady Garages, moving to the hourly charge rate. This will provide availability to the continuous flow of events on campus.

Brady Garage Meter Rates

  • 0-2 hours – $3.00/hour

  • 2-4 hours – $3.25/hour

  • 4-6 hours – $3.50/hour

  • 7+ hours – $3.75/hour

In conjunction with these rate changes, paid spaces across campus will transition to a pay-by-license plate function and will discontinue the pay-by-space and pay-and-display options.
