Jay Carlisle recently published an article titled “Research and Conservation Needs of Long-billed Curlews Wintering in the SJV Region.”

Carlisle and his Intermountain Bird Observatory team also were profiled in an article detailing their efforts to track elusive long-billed curlews throughout the intermountain west. Long-billed curlews are the largest North American shorebird but they’re most commonly found on grassland habitats.

Another article published in the Powell Tribune also details Carlisle’s efforts to capture and track the bird from its wintering grounds in Mexico to its important breeding grounds in the grasslands of the midwest and western states in the U.S.:
