These high school students, along with more than 100 others from seven schools across the Treasure Valley and beyond, presented final performances for the six- week TRIO Upward Bound summer program at Boise State University. The students lived in dorms, worked together on projects and experienced what it’s like to be on a college campus.
The goal of the Upward Bound program is to prepare and motivate students who may have limited income and be the first in their families to attend college for success in education beyond high school. The program also includes college preparation courses, workshops, enrichment classes and extracurricular activities. In addition, students participate in weekly service-learning activities.
TRIO Upward Bound is a program of the Center for Multicultural Educational Opportunities within the College of Education.
