Cycle Learning Center Offers Mountain Bike Monday Group Rides

By: Cienna Madrid   Published 6:59 am / September 27, 2017

Mountain bike riders in the foothills.Boise State’s Cycle Learning Center (CLC) hosts Mountain Bike Mondays – free weekly group rides through the foothills. The two-hour rides are offered as mixed or women-only events.

Rides begin at 5:30 p.m. each Monday. The group meets at the CLC at the northeast corner of Lincoln Garage. Registration is not required and bikes (including helmets) are available to rent from the CLC.

Group rides give new and experienced mountain bikers the opportunity to meet new people in the campus community. In addition, they give riders the opportunity to practice skills such as learning to navigate climbs, cornering, braking and descending, as well as trailside repairs stemming from mechanical issues or flat tires.

The CLC will continue group rides through the end of October, capping the fall with a weekend camping/mountain bike trip in collaboration with the Outdoor Program. Mountain Bike Mondays will resume after spring break in March 2018.
