Gordon Jones, founding dean of Boise State’s College of Innovation + Design (CI+D) and former managing director at the Harvard i-Lab, will provide unique insights about cultivating successful entrepreneurs and ecosystems in his Boise Start Up Week keynote address at noon Wednesday, Oct. 4, at the Boise Centre West. The address, titled An Insider Perspective on Successful Entrepreneurs and Ecosytems, will draw on his 25 years of innovation experience spanning startups to Fortune 500 companies across multiple industries.
Preparations are also under way as the Venture College readies to host the first edition of the Boise Start Up Week Pitch Competition.
“We’re pleased that the Venture College was selected to host this great event in what promises to be the largest entrepreneurial celebration in the state,” said Mike Sumpter, Venture College director. The Venture College is also hosting breakout sessions on marketing a startup, HR for startups and IP Concerns for startups as well as a facility tour for high school students. Sumpter, who is serving on the panel of judges for the event, added: “This is an outstanding opportunity to showcase our programs and facility to new friends and prospective students”.
Organizers encourage early registration as sessions are expected to fill. Multiple ticket options are available, including:
