Jennifer Weaver recently published an article in the journal Developmental Psychology. In the article, titled, Breastfeeding Duration Predicts Greater Maternal Sensitivity Over the Next Decade, Weaver and her colleagues Thomas Schofield (Iowa State University) and Lauren Papp (University of Wisconsin, Madison) examine how longer breastfeeding duration relates to maternal sensitivity over time. They report results from a 10-year longitudinal study suggesting that longer breastfeeding duration predicts increases in maternal sensitivity well beyond when breastfeeding has ended.
