Associate Professor
School of Public Service

Eric Lindquist recently attended two symposia in Versailles, France, as an invited participant of the National Science Foundation’s Big Data research program. Lindquist co-convened a breakout session on big data and smart cities and transport at the “Trans-Atlantic Workshop on Public Private Partnerships for Big Data Research and Innovation and Workforce Development.”

Lindquist also participated in the European Big Data Value Forum, which was sponsored by the Big Data Value Association, INRIA and the European Commission. The forum brought together major big data industry representatives, business leaders, researchers and policy makers

The Lindquist Policy Research Group’s work is supported by a planning grant sponsored by the NSFs West Big Data Innovation Hub, on the use of big data in criminal justice. The award has funded Ph.D. and masters students in the School of Public Policy and is the foundation for a new vertically integrated project on the use of big data in public sector decision making.
