Venture College Rolls Out New Spring Programs

By: Brady W Moore   Published 7:23 am / December 11, 2017

As part of the launch of VC 2.0, the Venture College is offering both an experiential class, known as the Startup Garage, for students who wish to learn entrepreneurial methods and skills, as well as a practicum course that provides one-on-one incubation opportunities working with mentors and coaches, called The Studio. Both courses can be taken either for credit or not for credit and each is worth three credit hours.

Additionally, Venture College is offering a one-credit intro to the business model canvas and lean startup methodology. This intro course meets once a week for 50 minutes and gives students a “taste test” of the Startup Garage through the Startup Sprint.

According to Venture College Director of Outreach Whitney Hansen, “These courses offer students at all levels a great range of hands-on experiences, working with teaching teams comprised of distinguished faculty, successful entrepreneurs, recent VC alums and special guests. Students can also earn badges in skill specific areas like networking, pitching, canvassing, etc.”

Features of the courses include special 24/7 access to the Venture College incubator space (The Garage) as well as access to the Pitch Center and Social Media Production Studio.
