Associate Professor
School of Public Service

Eric Lindquist attended the recent Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change Cities and Climate Change Science Conference in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

Lindquist’s presentation, “The convergence of climate change and Big Data in an urban and regional context: a policy perspective,” was part of the panel: “How Data Aggregation Can Support Subnational Actors in Framing Climate Science.”

The IPCC Cities Science Conference was their first to focus IPCC  research on the science of cities and climate change. The primary goal of the conference was to assess the state of academic and practice-based knowledge related to cities and climate change, and to establish a global research agenda based on the joint identification of key gaps by the academic, practitioner and urban policy-making communities. Findings will be assessed in upcoming IPCC Seventh Assessment Report’s Special Report on Cities and Climate Change.
