Boise State Celebrates National Cyber Security Month

By: Cienna Madrid   Published 2:14 pm / October 8, 2018

Boise State University joins the nation in celebrating National Cyber Security Awareness Month in October. During the month, there is a nationwide effort to educate and engage public and private sector stakeholders, and the public, on cybersecurity issues through a variety of communications and outreach activities.

Throughout National Cyber Security Awareness Month, we urge everyone to help create a safer and more secure cyber environment by remembering the following steps to keep themselves, their identities and their information safe online.

National Cyber Security Awareness Month is an opportunity to provide you with the tools to stay safe online. Visit us online to learn about weekly themes, tips and resources at boisestate.edu/oit-cybersecurity .

The world is more interconnected today than ever before. We enjoy the benefits and convenience that cyberspace provides, including online shopping, mobile banking, and communicating with friends and family through social networks and email.

However, we also face a range of threats – identity and intellectual property theft, network intrusions and financial crimes – from these cyber networks.

As a partner in the Department of Homeland Security’s STOP.THINK.CONNECT campaign, Boise State has shown its commitment to enhancing online safety for everyone.
